'India Rising' or Indian consumer shining ?. Yes, Newsweek writes about rising India. And how the Indian consumer is driving its growth.

In India, the individual is king. Young Indian professionals don’t wait to buy a house at the end of their lives with their savings. They take out mortgages. The credit-card industry is growing at 35 percent a year. Personal consumption makes up a staggering 67 percent of GDP in India, much higher than China (42 percent) or any other Asian country. Only the United States is higher at 70 percent.

Wow! A lot in this Q !. Mmm, these start pages are all almost looks like My Yahoo which has been around for some years. But, this time these are riding on the AJAX and Web 2.0 (anything hype!!). These start pages are basically a customizable portal where you can drag and drop portlets (it is also called gadgets, widgets...) with AJAX. Looks cool n nice.!! But, all these start pages eats up huge memory ??

Thavamai Thavamirunthu !

Thavamai Thavamirunthu, TT (me, never ?) 3 hours and 22 minutes! film directed and acted by 'Cheran', with his uncompromised cinema flying mostly, and appeals as much to the mind as the heart. The film is all about parental care (esp. father-son relationship), love and more realistic stuffs.

>> Watched the film with K & S family, K, B (thx. for booking the tickets), K, F this weekend. Really nice drive in ECR during excellent climate in Chennai (Jus' escaped from 5th innings of the heavy rain, Fanoos ?) ..

>> film shot @ Karaikudi and nearby locations mostly, which includes our Great 'college' (after 'Kandukondein Kandukondein') and hostel too.. Nice memories, while seeing all those places (including the Great College doom, Murugappa Hall, S-gate, etc., etc., ?? ..) with my 'friends' in Big screen !!

>> "yenna paarkirai ?", “unnai saranandathen…” (guess, the CD contains song with female voice, but film features song in male voice) songs are nice to listen ..

>> Raj kiran acted excellently well. That girl 'Meena' (guess), acted well with local slang, mostly funny ;-)

Came across a nice blog post "Watch and You Will Know" (Attention and Appreciation!!)

Dave Pollard writes in the context of cultural anthropolgy :

TinyDisk, a complete, shared filesystem built on to of TinyURL. TinyDisk is a program from saving and retrieving files from TinyURL and TinyURL-like services such as Nanourl. It overlays a write-once-read-many anonymous, persistent and globally shared filesystem. Once something is uploaded, only the database admin can delete it. Everyone can read it. No one can know who created it. Think of it as a magical CD-R that gets burned and placed on a network.
